Beti Kaveri admires her dad Shekhar Kapur

Being filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and actor-singer Suchitra Krishnamoorthi’s daughter, it was only natural for Kaveri to enter showbiz. The 16-year-old recently released her second single, Half a heart.

She explains her foray into music, “I have always been inclined towards music, ever since I was a little girl. My parents have been supportive." Though her parents are divorced and Kaveri lives with mother Suchitra she still shares a great equation with her father. “It’s hard to stay away from dad. My dad and I are very close, and the equation only becomes better as I grow older. I admire that he is so creative. He’s like my mother in that aspect,” she added.

Kaveri who considers Adele as one of her musical idols admits there are some advantages to being from a well known family but her parents have ensured she was never in the limelight growing up.
