Gia Allemand, who appeared on The Bachelor and its spinoff show Bachelor Pad, has died following an apparent suicide attempt. She was 29.

The news was confirmed by her publicist, who wrote in a statement that Allemand was taken to University Hospital in New Orleans after an apparent suicide attempt on Monday, the New York Post reported.

The statement said that the actress was taken off life support on Wednesday because of “a critical loss of brain and organ function".

The reality show star's last tweet was a verse from the Bible.

The publicist said that Allemand, who did modelling work for Maxim magazine, died with her “mother, boyfriend and NBA Pelicans player Ryan Anderson and other life-long friends by her side.”
