'Baahubali' star Prabhas beats Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth, becomes first South Indian actor to have a statue at Madame Tussauds!

With the success of Baahubali: The Conclusion at the box-office, Prabhas has his own personal achievement to be happy about.

The Baahubali star trumped actors like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan to become the first South Indian star to gain a wax statue at the Madame Tussauds Museum. The actor's statue has been unveiled at the Bangkok museum and acquires the great honour of becoming the first statue of a South Indian movie star. 

The star of the Baahubali franchise has cemented his place as one of the top-grossing actors in Indian cinema. The Baahubali franchise has already become the highest grossing Indian film franchise of all time, and it's Prabhas' manly on-screen presence and down-to-earth personality that have helped spread his name across India. The Bangkok museum welcomes the actor's statue amongst those of Mahatma Gandhi and Narendra Modi. People initially were confused as to why no South Indian stars were able to find a place at Madame Tussauds, but hopefully this will mark the beginning of a change.

Prabhas sat with the artists at Madame Tussauds for photographs and measurements for the statue last year. The actor, who is depicted as his Amarendra Baahubali character, said during the sitting, "I am really happy to have been selected by Madame Tussauds and I think this was only possible because of fans. I am grateful for their unconditional love and support. I am also thankful to my guru, SS Rajamouli, for the opportunity to work on this fantastic project Baahubali.”

The actor joins the likes of other Indian Bollywood idols like Anil Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
