Avengers: Infinity War | Why Benedict Cumberbatch gets a body double

Broadway actor Aaron Lazar will step in for actor Benedict Cumberbatch as his body double to portray Doctor Strange in the Avengers: Infinity War.

The actor is filming the next Marvel franchise film in Georgia, where he is all poised to support the Sherlock star, reported New York Post.

On the other hand, Cumberbatch is shooting for The Current War, in which he plays the role of the inventor, Thomas Edison.

When the Doctor Strange star is through with the Alfonso Gomez-Rejon film, he will reshoot the scenes to replace Lazar's face.

However, according to a source from Disney, "They are not digitally superimposing Cumberbatch onto another actor's performance."
