The Internet is all a buzz about Batkid, the five-year-old leukaemia survivor, Miles Scott. The California born received a special treat from the Make-a-Wish foundation as San Francisco was transformed into Gotham for a whole day, just for young Miles Scott. Scott became 'Batkid' and battled with an assortment of villains and cleared the streets of crime.

Miles Scott, the 5-year-old who bravely fought leukaemia for years, became a social media phenomena and captivated the hearts of thousands of fans in his home town of California and all over the world, as he donned the cape and cowl of his favourite superhero - Batman.

Miles became 'Batkid' and battled with an assortment of villains as he cleared the streets of crime. Miles started off from the city's Union Square in one of the two Lamborghinis customised into Batmobiles present and began a taking down one criminal at a time, drawing huge crowds and fulfilling his greatest wish in the process.

Even The White House sent out a tweet encouraging Batkid to "Go get 'em!" and in a video recording, the US President Barack Obama himself lent his support and said, "Way to go, Miles! Way to save Gotham!"

Along with his fellow hero, an adult Batman impersonator, Batkid took down a few of Batman's rogues, foiling a bank robbery committed by The Riddler, and rescuing the San Francisco Giants baseball team mascot, Lou Seal from the clutches of the Penguin.

Batkid even got to save the damsel in distress as he rescued a woman sitting on the cable car tracks in a dress and thigh-high black boots. She had a handkerchief around her mouth, and her hands were bound behind her back. But fear not, Batkid saved the day in the nick of time. Using a trampoline, Batman and Batkid leaped into action and disabled the plastic bomb replica she was tied to.

The overwhelming attention and cheers from the crown seemed to take young Miles by surprise, but at the end of the day, Batkid was all smiles.

Although he didn't address the crowd, he showed his appreciation and respect for the cheering crowd as he raised his fist twice when he was presented with a whole lot of tokens from the city, including and FBI "raid jacket" and a San Francisco Police Department cap. In addition to this already unforgettable day, Miles received a Key To The City from San Francisco mayor Ed Lee as he proclaimed that November 15 is to be "Batkid Day Forever".

Miles started off from the city's Union Square in one of the two Batmobiles present and began a taking down one criminal at a time.

The five-year-old unaware of what was in store, was only told that he was going to San Francisco to get a Batman costume. Instead, he was called upon to take up the mantle of 'Batkid'. Police Chief Greg Suhr made the announcement via a megaphone broadcast and so Miles spent the day fighting crime, going from one scenario to the next.

The San Francisco Chronicle, who live blogged the events, has said it plans to distribute special edition newspapers featuring the headline "Batkid Saves City," in Union Square.

The story of Batkid really tugs on the heartstrings, showing you that true heroes really are out there. But there's more. To add the cherry on top of a day Miles isn't going to forget very soon, the cast members of the hit show Arrow posted a 'tip of the hat' video to young Miles Scott.

In the video, Arrow's Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards, and David Ramsey in character as Oliver Queen, Felicity Smoak and John Diggle meet after nine hours of searching for crime around the city, and come to the conclusion that there is none, due to Batkid.

The video ends with Queen, Smoak and Diggle expressing their thanks for making their job easier to Batkid and decide since there isn't any crime, they should grab something to eat instead.

Here's the video, from Stephen Amell's official Facebook page:
