Ameesha Patel trying too hard?

Everybody knows that Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel has been off the radar for quite sometime. Her last release Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic was almost three years ago. Post that she partnered with producer Kunal Ghoomer to start her production house but even that didn’t do  much for her. However, the stars did shine upon her and Ameesha bagged a role in the big budget multi-starrer project Race 2, which may act as a turning point for her. But if insiders are to be believed, then Ameesha wasn’t too satisfied just being part of the film and wanted more. 

An insider claims, “After almost two years she has got a meaty role in this film. But Ameesha, who is  trying to make her presence felt, was vying for actress Deepika Padukone’s role.”

The source further adds, “When Deepika, who is the female lead in the film, was apparently going to leave the film due to unavailability of dates, Ameesha made all efforts  to make the most of this opening, as she is just doing a cameo. She immediately called producer Ramesh Taurani and conveyed her wish to do the female protagonist’s role. She also, apparently tried to influence him saying Deepika will be unavailable during Cocktail’s promotions, which will delay the film further. However, Taurani wasn’t sure about Ameesha playing  the lead role. Eventually, Deepika made alterations in her dates, and Ameesha continued with her cameo appearance.”
