She started her filmy career with him and he's been there for her ever since. But all's not well between Deepika Padukone and her mentor-friend Shah Rukh Khan. The reason? The big budget clash between their respective films this Christmas. Yes, both Deepika's Bajirao Mastani and Shah Rukh's Dilwale is all set to hit screens this December 18. And by the looks of it, things have turned sour between the two actors.
It all started when SRK decided to come on December 18 with his next release Dilwale that also stars Varun Dhawan, Kajol and Kriti Sanon. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus too releases the same day and it's possibly the biggest clash this year. While SLB's film is a mythological war drama based on the life of warrior Peshwa Bajirao I and his wives Kashibai and Mastani, Dilwale is yet another typical Rohit Shetty blockbuster film.
What happened between Deepika and SRK is not known to all. But many portals have reported that there's a strong rift between the two actors because of the clash. Deepika had allegedly asked SRK to request his team to shift the release dates which obviously didn't happen. That seems strained their relationship.
Incidentally, Deepika had debuted with SRK in Om Shanti Om which also clashed with SLB's Saawariya back then. Now, things are a little different with Deepika being on the other side. The two actors have come together for three films in total (OSO, Chennai Express and Happy New Year), all of them being commercial blockbusters. Recently, Deepika who's planning a grand launch for her foundation on mental health this October 10 wanted SRK to do the honours. But it seems SRK's choc-a-bloc schedule has played spoilsport and the superstar won't be able to make it to the do. And we have been told that a busy schedule is the only reason why SRK could not be a part of the inauguration. We believe it.
Is there a fallout between the two? No one's openly talked about it but we hope all's fine between DP and her mentor SRK!
