ADHM vs Shivaay: Ajay Devgn's 'Shivaay' fights back, records strong business outside metros on Monday

This Diwali saw the titanic clash between Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Ajay Devgn's Shivaay at the ticket windows. While ADHM began with a strong start and has been racing ahead of Shivaay in the multiplexes, especially in the metro cities, looks like Shivaay is finally picking up at the ticket windows.

Over the first three days, ADHM seemed to win the battle but from the morning and afternoon collections of Shivaay on Monday, it has apparently done strong business. As per a report on Box Office India, the first 3 days saw low business for Shivaay as ADHM was the first choice in the metro multiplexes but the strong business of Shivaay on Monday, outside the multiplexes hint that ADHM is unable to grow much in places like Ludhiana, Lucknow or Latur (Ludhiana and Lucknow being big A centres while Latur is a B centre). 

The report further adds that while ADHM went strong in 75% of the A centre cities on Friday, on Monday Shivaay replaced ADHM gathering 75% of the A centre cities' collections. As per this trend, Shivaay is now ahead in the A centres.

Reportedly, the domination of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is supposed to keep it ahead of Shivaay, but where it was 45% on Friday, the gap between ADHM and Shivaay could be reduced to about 10-20%. It would be interesting to see how the two movies fare at the ticket windows over the next few days with Shivaay putting up a strong fight.
