Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist Aaamir Khan has done it yet again.

After creating waves with his though-provoking show Satyamev Jayate, the actor has now agreed to be a part of the Election Commission's voter awareness campaign as a 'national icon' ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Aamir, who is known for going off the beaten track, has joined the likes of former president APJ Abdul Kalam, Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, badminton ace Saina Nehwal and boxer MC Mary Kom.

The national icons will educate the voters through programmes such as systematic voter education and electoral participation (SVEEP). SVEEP aims at increasing voter turnout.
