The leading lady of Shah Rukh Khan's latest release, Raees, Mahira Khan joined the team of the film for the press conference that was organised post the success of the film. Clad in a white tee that spelled 'Zaalima' Mahira interacted with the Indian media-persons.
Here are 8 things she said during the interaction that you can't miss:
1) On the reaction of her family after watching Raees: "We watched the film here and my family was screaming for Shah Rukh's entry sequence and not mine."
Mahira said that initially she had this fear that people will be able to see Shah Rukh and not her. She revealed her family was screaming at SsRK's entry, to which Shah Rukh replied, "In my introduction sequence I was opening my shirt and hitting myself while in your entry you were dancing to 'Kaante Nahi Lagte..' so your mom will like me. "
2) On her coming to India for the first time: "I grew up watching his films. All I had seen is Bollywood films. When I arrived in Mumbai I thought at least my duppata would fly, Shah Rukh would come running towards me. Nothing happened."
To this SRK, who was at his wittiest best, replied saying, " We did have the duppata sequence in Gujarat the budget wasn't more for this film so we did not go to Switzerland."
3) On the part she found toughest to enact in Raees: "The scene were he yells at me was little difficult. We did a rehearsal before shooting the song and he made us laugh all the time. So when we were shooting I couldn't control my laughter. Our director Rahul Dholakia told me to get serious and I told him he is making me laugh."
4) On meeting Shah Rukh for the first time: "I had signed "Raees" we were doing a photo shoot. I was told Shah Rukh is here and you come out soon. So I quickly ran out and it was hi-hello. He told me you will be ok, fine. It was a short meeting but it was nice. I thought wind will blow and the leaves will fall but nothing of that sort happened. Rather I am the only heroine he did not spread his arms for."
To this Shah Rukh quipped, "Your size is small. I did pick you up in a song."
5) On Fawad Khan vs Shah Rukh Khan: "My first work was with Fawad he is of great e. I was not in awe of Fawad. He is a great co-actor. And to work with Shah Rukh is different experience. To compare both of them would be wrong."
6) On missing the promotions of Raees in India: "There are lot of things being said. If you were at my place to see your film doing the was it is, the songs and trailer come out and I have received lot of love. To feel that is more than enough energy else is frills. I am happy siting here. For me this is it."
7) On the ban on Indian movies being lifted in Pakistan: "You don't understand how much we wanted this to happen. Raees is a big film and everyone was asking me about it (release). Everyone was waiting."
8) On the response of Raees in Pakistan: "I was not expecting such an amazing l kind of response for the film, it has surpassed everything. I did anticipate a good response I am very grateful. We all fit in our characters and that's the best compliment."
