The Board of High School and Intermediate Education Uttar Pradesh, most commonly called the UP Board, is likely to declare the results of class X and XII on April 29. The result will be posted on the official website upresults.nic.in and upmspresults.up.nic.in.

Class 10th exams of UP Board were conducted from February 6 to February 22 while the Class 12th exams were held between February 6 and March 12, 2018.

It was for the first time that the results, which usually are declared in May, are being declared in April.

A total of 66,37,018 students had registered themselves for this year's exam 36,55,691 for class 10 and 29,81,327 for class 12. Of these, nearly 11 lakh students skipped the exam.

The evaluation of copies was started from March 17 and completed in record time of less than a month.

The evaluation of papers of the two examinations was almost completed and tabulation is near completion, Board Secretary Neena Srivastava said yesterday. The results would be declared on April 29, she announced.

“We will be uploading the results soon, including the names of the toppers. It can be seen on UP Board Portal online from April 29 (www.upresults.nic.in),” said Deputy Chief Minister Dr Dinesh Sharma, who holds education portfolio in the Yogi Adityanath government, said.

To encourage the Board toppers, the Yogi Aditayanth had announced to name the roads in the name of the toppers in their villages and areas. The State government has also decided to introduce NCERT books and its syllabus from the current academic session in UP Board.

Over 11 lakh of 66 lakh students had either opted out or had left the two exams midway following several strict measures taken by the Yogi Adityanath government to check mass copying.

About 75% of the nearly 11 lakh students who skipped this year's Uttar Pradesh board examinations were from neighbouring states, and some of them were even from foreign countries like Nepal and Bangladesh, Sharma said.

For the first time, only centres having installed CCTV cameras were allowed to conduct the exam. Besides flying squads, the Special Task Force and state and local intelligence sleuths were deployed to check copying.
