Candidates who were waiting for admit cards for UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) can now breathe easy. CBSE has released the admit cards on their website, and NET aspirants can download their admit cards from there.

This year the exam will be held on July 8. Students who qualify UGC Net will be eligible for the post of assistant professor. HRD Minister recently announced that merely qualifying in UGC NET will not amount to candidates getting a university job. They have to finish their PHD for that. However, they can teach in colleges. Top 6% candidates (combining subject and general score) will be eligible for assistant professor post.

A separate higher cut-off (using a different formula) is there to avail junior research fellowships. Earlier, to be eligible for JRF, the maximum age for general candidates was 28 years. Now it has been extended to 30 years. This year the exam will be held on July 8.
