Karnataka CET 2021 postponed due to COVID-19, check new exam dates here

The Karnataka government on Wednesday announced postponing the Common Entrance Test (CET) 2021 following the postponement of the second pre-university exam this year. The exam will now take place on August 28 and 29, the government said.

The government has also postponed the Kannada Language Test for Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga students. The exam will be conducted on August 30.

The CET-2021 was earlier scheduled to be held on July 7 and 8 and the Kannada Language Test on July 9, which has been postponed now.

"Due to the postponement of the 2021 2nd annual PUC (Pre University Course) examinations and the surge in COVID-19 cases in the state, CET-2021 has been postponed," an official statement said.

"CET-2021, earlier scheduled to be held on July 7 and July 8, and the Kannada Language Test on July 9 have been postponed. As per the revised dates, CET-2021 will be conducted on August 28 and August 29 and the Kannada Language Test on August 30," the statement added.

Karnataka CET 2021 New Exam Dates

On August 28, the Biology paper will be held in the morning shift - from 10:30 am to 11:50 am. In the afternoon shift - 2:30 pm to 3:50 pm - the Maths paper will be held.

On August 29, the Physics exam will be conducted in the morning shift and Chemistry will be held in the afternoon shift.

All four papers will carry 60 marks each.

Kannada language test will be conducted for Horanadu and Gadinadu candidates on April 30 between 11.30 am and 12.30 pm. It will carry 50 marks.

Karnataka Education Minister Dr C N Ashwatha Narayana informed that further applications would be invited online shortly and asked the candidates to remain in touch with the KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) website for latest updates.

About CET

The CET examination is for admission to undergraduate professional courses such as Engineering, Technology, Yoga and Naturopathy Farm science, and Pharma courses in the state's institutes. KCET is a pen-and-paper-based test. Through KCET exams, eligible candidates can take admission in any of the 213 colleges that come under its banner.
