CBSE Class 10 Result 2021: How marks would be calculated

The students will be assessed out of maximum 100 marks for each subject.

According to the policy, while 20 marks for each subject will be for internal assessment, 80 marks will be calculated on basis of the students' performance in various tests or exams throughout the year.

The periodic tests or unit tests will have a weightage of 10 marks, half-yearly exams will have 30 marks and pre-boards will have 40 marks, total accounting for 80 marks.

This is for computation of 5 main subjects as opted by the students for CBSE 10th Board Exams 2021. In case a student had registered for 6 or more subjects, then the marks for the 6th subject would be calculated on the basis of mean marks of best 3 subjects out of maximum allotted marks after conversion.

"Schools will also have to ensure that the marks awarded by them should be in consonance with past performance of the school in class 10 board exams. Schools will have to form an eight-member committee headed by principal for finalising results," CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said.

As per the notice released by the Board, the evaluation process will involve four key principles including reliability, fairness, flexibility and validity. CBSE may depute a team to verify the documents and the process of allocating marks uploaded to ensure the correctness of the same.
