Three drug addicts held by Delhi Police for snatching

The accused were arrested after a police team received a tip-off that the gang would come to Sultanpur Majra to sell the snatched mobile phones.

Three drug addicts accused in various cases of snatching have been arrested by the Delhi police from North-east Delhi on Wednesday.

The accused identified as Harjeet Bhuiyan (32), Vishal alias Manoj alias Dangal (24) and Vishal alias Dimpy (22) have been allegedly involved in various cases of snatching in the outer district of Delhi.

The accused were arrested after a police team received a tip-off that the gang would come to Sultanpur Majra to sell the snatched mobile phones.

"They had been addicted to drugs and to fulfil their desire for a lavish life they turned to snatching," said police.

The kingpin Harjeet has been previously accused in various cases of theft and robbery.

During the picket checking at Sultanpur Majra, the accused tried to run away on their bike. The police team chased them and finally nabbed the gang. On checking the vehicle document, the bike was found to be stolen. The police team recovered ten stolen mobile phones on further checking.

Further investigation about their involvement in other cases is midway.
