Special Cell of Delhi Police busts interstate drug cartels, six held

Special Cell in its continuous crusade against drug suppliers has busted many narcotic drug cartels in the past by arresting several drug suppliers and by recovering huge consignments of high grade heroin.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested six persons and busted two interstate drug cartels wherein heroin was being supplied from Myanmar and Manipur. Police have seized 20 kilograms of heroin worth Rs 80 crore in the international market.

"The accused have been identified as Mausam Ali (30), Chhote Khan (55), Sanjay (36), Jalil Khan (50), Sajid Ali (32) and Shakir (27). An Ertiga car and a truck used in transporting the contraband have been seized. Several mobile handsets and SIM cards used in the drug trafficking activities have also been recovered from them," said Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special Cell.

Special Cell in its continuous crusade against drug suppliers has busted many narcotic drug cartels in the past by arresting several drug suppliers and by recovering huge consignments of high grade heroin. Northern Range of Special Cell has busted several such cartels in the recent past and recovered more than 100 kilograms of high grade heroin. Investigating officials stated that two different interstate narcotic cartels are active in the states of West Bengal, UP, Punjab, Delhi, MP, etc. and their members are involved in supplying high grade heroin in these states.

"The accused would bring the drug from suppliers in West Bengal. In Bengal, it was prepared by collecting raw materials from the Myanmar border. Officers worked on the drug chain for over three months to unearthed it," added Yadav.

According to the police, on January 18 three members identified as Mausam Ali, Chhote Khan and Sanjay would come in Ertiga Car behind Nirankari Sarovar, Delhi to deliver consignment of heroin to a Delhi-based contact. A trap was laid and the accused were arrested. The drug was recovered from a secret cavity made around the Speedometer and inside the hand-rest, rear seat. Based on their statement, a team was rushed to Bareilly to arrest the main source of the drug cartel and Jalil Khan was arrested on January 19.

On January 20, police received another information that two key members of another drug cartel namely Sajid Ali and Shakir would come to supply huge consignment of drugs to one of Delhi-based contact in their truck. A trap was laid and the accused were arrested.

Mausam Ali, ChhoteLal and Sanjay disclosed that they have been indulging in trafficking of narcotic drugs for last about 3-4 years. They used to receive supply of heroin from Jalil and Mustikam, both residents of Bareilly, UP. The accused would further supply these consignments of heroin as per the directions of Jalil and Mustakim to various persons in UP, Punjab and Delhi/NCR areas. They made inconspicuous cavity inside their Maruti Eritiga car to hide the contraband.

Jalil disclosed that he used to receive crude heroin from suppliers in Bareilly and thereafter he used to prepare pure heroin at his secret hideouts.

Sajid Ali and Shakir disclosed that they have been indulging in trafficking of narcotic drugs for last about 4-5 years at the behest of Rashid, a resident of Bareilly. They used to work as carrier for Rashid and received heroin from Khan and Rajaq as per his direction. Rashid used to communicate with Khan and Rajaq through mobile phone and direct them to receive heroin from Khan and Rajaq at various places in Malda, West Bengal. He used to hide heroin packets between clothes.
