The family members of the class IX girl, who had allegedly committed suicide at her house in Noida owing to sexual harassment and criticism in her school in East Delhi, held a silent candle march demanding justice for their daughter and a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the death.

The police said they have got a go-ahead from the CBSE for revaluation of her answer sheets, however, a committee couldn't be formed yet to check them because of the ongoing board examinations. Several of her family members gathered at Film City in Sector 16A here and marched till The Great India Place mall holding placards and candles demanding the arrest of the accused teachers.

"We don't see any justice being done by the police. We have moved to the court and it is our only hope now. We will fight for the truth and the CBI will find the facts and reveal it," said the victim's father.

According to the victim's mother, this is not only a fight for justice for their daughter, but also for the several girls who are victims of torture and harassment by the teachers.

"Thousands of girls end their lives as they become a victim of the similar kind of torture and harassment by the teachers. They are unable to take the pressure and owing to which they end their help. We want to ensure no other student meets such an end," said the victim's mother.

"The CBSE has given a go-ahead but a committee couldn't be formed to check the answer sheet as many teachers are busy with the ongoing board examinations. The committee will be formed soon and the revaluation of the papers will take the investigation forward," said a senior police official. The family have moved Supreme Court and filed a written petition to which the apex court has agreed to hear a plea seeking a CBI investigation into the reasons behind the suicide.

The Noida Police had filed an FIR against two teachers and the principal under IPC Sections 306, 354, 506 and the POCSO Act.
