Miscreants open fire at child racketeer’s vehicle in East Delhi

Police said that Punjaban was out on parole and was returning home from her relatives’ house when some unidentified miscreants opened fire at her car.

Sonu Punjaban, who was earlier arrested in alleged case of human trafficking and forcing minor girls into prostitution, was allegedly attacked by unidentified miscreants who fired at her car in east Delhi area on Wednesday morning. Police said that Punjaban was out on parole and was returning home from her relatives’ house when some unidentified miscreants opened fire at her car. 

According to the police, a call around 4 am was received in Shakarpur police station regarding firing near Geeta Colony Pushta. Geeta Arora alias Sonu Punjaban known for her involvement in flesh trade was on her way home when three bullets were fired at her car. As per Sonu, she was returning home after meeting her relatives in her Honda City car when her car was intercepted. “She stated that three persons first forcibly stopped her vehicle after which they opened fire at her. She ducked to save herself. They later threatened her and fled,” said a senior police officer.  The police officials immediately reached the location. Sonu’s car had three bullet marks, two on the front windshield and one on the co-driver side window pane. 

Accordingly, a case under 308, 506 IPC and Arms Act has been registered. Investigation is on covering all the angles. Sonu Punjaban has stated that she is on parole for a few days.
