MBA wanted in robbery case arrested

Delhi Police's crime branch has arrested an MBA graduate who is a member of Neeraj Bawania gang and was wanted for his involvement in last month's sensational gun-point robbery of West Delhi's Janakpuri area.

Police said the accused had robbed gold chain and cash from their rival gang members after firing gunshots. Two other accused in this case have already been arrested by the crime branch.

The accused is identified as Ravinder alias Ravi, 31. He was arrested following a raid on Sunday. According to the police, Ravi, who holds an MBA degree, come in contact with Bhola alias Lalit who was an active member of Neeraj Bawania gang in 2010 and joined the gang with the help of Bhola.

"The accused further disclosed that on August 8, he along with his associates Bhola, Hunny, and Kaku, in order to maintain supremacy in the area, assaulted the rival group of Vicky with firearms in West Delhi's Janakpuri area and robbed gold chain and Rs 5000 from them after firing 2-3 rounds. Bhola and Hunny have already been arrested by crime branch in this case, while Ravi was on the run," said a senior police officer.

Ravi had been arrested earlier by the crime branch in January this year in a case of attempt to murder, when he fired gunshots on a passerby who was trying to stop him and his associates from teasing a girl in Uttam Nagar.
