Trying to pay through Paytm from a stolen mobile phone of a woman proved costly to a snatcher.

The man was traced through the details of the transactions and was arrested along with his aide on Wednesday.

The arrested accused were identified as Mohd Museen alias Sufiyan (22) and Mohd Kasif (28). Both are brothers and have been involved in various cases of snatching, mostly in trans-Yamuna areas.

Nupur Prasad, DCP Shahdara, said that incident took place last week, when the complainant, 34-year-old Manya Vinayak, was heading from Karkardooma village towards Cosmos hospital.

"When she had reached near the BSES office in Saini Enclave, two biker-borne snatchers targeted her and fled with her handbag which had Rs 1,500 cash, two mobile phones, her voter ID card, Aadhaar card and other valuable documents," she said.

When the police were probing the incident, on September 14, the woman told cops that she had received a message on her mobile phone that Rs 5,000 has been transferred from her Paytm account to one unknown account.

"On this, the police team obtained details of the number on which the money had been transferred and eventually found and location was traced," the DCP said.
