Delhi Police have arrested a man and apprehended his juvenile aide for allegedly murdering an elderly man in north east Delhi. Police said that the duo had strangled the 61-year-old man and stuffed his body in a bed box at his residence. The man killed the senior citizen on pretext of having an affair with his mother, who worked as a maid at the senior citizen's house.
According to the police, the killing came to fore on July 22, when a PCR call was received from the deceased's neighbours reporting foul smell emitting from a locked house in C block, Bhajanpura area. After a police team broke open the entrance and barged into the house, they found the elderly man's dead body stuffed inside a bed box. The deceased was identified as Madan Mohan (61) and a case of murder was registered at Bhajanpura police station.
DCP northeast, Ajit Singla said, investigations revealed that two youths were last seen at the place of incident, and with the help of questioning of locals, one of them was identified as 21-year-old Paras (name changed), son of the house maid of the deceased man.
"His residence was traced in east Delhi and a raid was conducted, but the accused could not be found. Further, with the help of technical surveillance, his location was traced in Mathura, and a police team was rushed to Mathura to nab him. On reaching the identified location it was revealed that they have already left for Delhi. Later, on the basis of technical surveillance and local inputs, Paras was nabbed from Khajoori Chowk on Sunday," Singla said.
During interrogation, Paras disclosed that he was agitated at the deceased's closeness with his mother and had rrepeatedly asked her no to go for work there. He said, suspecting an illegitimate relationship between them, in order to revenge, he roped in his juvenile aide and on July 20, barged into the elderly man's house post midnight and strangled him to death with a cloth (chunni). On Paras's instance, his juvenile aide was also apprehended, police said.
