The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report tabled in the Delhi Assembly on Tuesday highlighted that the urban development department has not set up any mechanism for coordination among multiple agencies to prepare a plan for the development of road networks. As a result, many works were halted even though the number of vehicles in the city kept increasing.

The report tabled by the Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also stated that there was an effective mechanism for the public to address their grievances with regard to specific roads to the concerned agency.

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation made a payment of Rs 30.92 crore to a contractor in July 2017 on account of post-tendering increase in the length of new drains from 2,538 metre to 56,636 metre and strengthening of the drain from 6,769 metre to 10,226 metre.

"Further, a construction of 5,360-metre road and drain along both sides of the road included in the contract was not executed in the roadwork of the Okhla Industrial Area Phase I," the report stated.
