The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in the Capital has become the world’s number 2 airport for handling over 40 million passengers per annum, according to the 2016 Airports Council International (ACI) ranking, airport operator DIAL stated on Monday. Officials said the Delhi airport has now entered the elite club of international airports that handle over 40 million passenger a year.
DIAL said IGIA’s Airport Service Quality score has also increased substantially, from 4.96 in 2015 to 4.99 in 2016, which helped the IGIA scale over several other airports and get on the second position globally, only after Incheon in South Korea.
