Hunt for suspects intensifies as 8 Delhi police teams fan out

The East district of Delhi police are yet to make concrete headway in the road rage incident were a 21-year-old man was shot dead after his motorcycle touched the door of a car parked outside a store in East Delhi's Pandav Nagar area on Sunday night. Police have formed eight teams who are working to find clues and hunt down the suspects.

The number of teams was increased from five to eight to intensify the probe.

"We have got a few leads in the case and are working on them. We are hopeful of identifying the accused soon. While the cameras outside the store did not capture the accused's car's registration number but checking the CCTV footage of the store, we can see a well-built, bearded man wearing sunglasses," said Pankaj Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East).

There were two people, Aman and Yogesh alias Golu, ppresent with the deceased Yogesh Singh during the incident, however, they did not inform the police or make a PCR call.

Singh, along with Aman and Yogesh, had gone to the day-and-night store. The trio had stopped their motorcycle and were on it when a white i20 car came next to the motorcycle as well. One of the occupants of the car was stepping out when the door touched the motorcycle. An argument between them followed and continued even after Aman and one of the accused went inside the store.

By the time Aman returned, the argument was still on. An agitated Singh picked up an iron rod lying on the road and broke the window of the car driver's seat. Seconds later, around four rounds were fired at Singh, of which three hit him. The accused then got into the car and fled.
