Gurugram cops nab member of dreaded Bawaria gang

Gurugram Police's Crime Branch has arrested a gang member belonging to the notorious Bawaria Gang. The accused is wanted in numerous cases involving burglary, dacoity and murder.

The accused, Sahab Singh, 36, is a native of Jhajjar district in Haryana.

Police sources said that they had arrested the man after getting a tip-off from one of their sources. Following this, the Crime Unit of Bilaspur deployed a team near Hanuman Mandir area.

"A man was walking around near Hanuman Mandir. When he saw our team he became apprehensive and started moving away. We stopped him and took him to the station for interrogation," said Sub Inspector Surendra Kumar, Crime Unit Bilaspur.

Police said, during interrogations the suspect revealed that he belonged to the Bawaria Gang and was roaming in the area to commit a theft.

The accused has been taken into four days police remand after which he was presented in court and taken into judicial custody.

"We will try to nab the other members of his gang soon in the area," said Sumit Kumar, DCP Crime, Gurugram. The Bawaria gang is notorious for attempting numerous crimes including murder and Rape in areas of NCR and western Uttar Pradesh.
