Four dead, including two kids in different fire incidents in Delhi-NCR

Goods, items worth several crores were burned down to the ground; 50 shanties gutted

Four people died in different incidents of fire in the last 24 hours in Delhi-NCR. In the first incident, two kids died after a short circuit in the air conditioner at their house. In another incident, two persons were charred to death in the early hours of Saturday when a fire broke out in a tent house in Kotla area of South Delhi. Meanwhile, another fire broke out in which around 50 shanties were gutted in Indirapuram area. A minor fire broke out at a farmhouse in Alipur and another incident was reported from Daryaganj.

According to fire officials, the fire incidents were reported in the past 24 hours, in which four people, including two children, died, while goods and household items worth several crores were gutted into ashes.

Two children, Sarthak Garg and Aksara Garg, were killed after a fire which broke out due to a short circuit in the air conditioner of their house in Kewal Park near Adarsh Nagar around on Friday night. However, locals managed to save 3 people in the incident.

"We received a call around 11:14 pm on Friday night about a fire. Around 12 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The fire broke out on the first floor of the building and soon engulfed the second floor too. The kids were trapped on the second floor of the house. The boy was found semi-conscious while the girl was charred to death in the staircase area of the house. Both were declared brought dead on arrival at Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital," said a senior fire official.

In the second incident, two men, working at a tent house were charred to death in Kotla Mubarakpur area. The officials said a short circuit was the cause of the fire.

"A call was received at 3 am about the blaze and 10 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. The fire was doused by 5:45 am, after which two charred bodies were recovered. The two were identified as Manil and Shyam," said a senior fire official.

In another incident, a massive fire broke out in a slum under the elevated road in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad on Saturday morning. Over 50 shanties were reduced to ashes in the fire.

A fire incident was also reported from Tipoli Garden area in Daryaganj on Friday night."The fire was brought under control in two hours. The fire initiated on the second floor of the building and spread on all the floors of the complex. No causalities were reported," said a senior fire official.

A minor fire also broke out in Maple garden resort in Alipur area on Saturday morning.
