On Tuesday, Justice Arun Mishra before beginning the proceedings for the day spotted Solicitor General Tushar Mehta in his Court and began ruing about the rising pollution levels in the city.
Pollution in the city is forcing even judges of the Supreme Court to abandon their daily morning walk and this is something they seem to be complaining about the most.

Wondering whether the Government could do its bit to curb this trend, the judge said, "There is so much of pollution in Delhi that I cannot go for my morning walk past few days. Can you not do something?"
Mehta nodded in agreement saying that the air quality has deteriorated in the past few days which is posing a serious health risk to citizens, particularly those who are suffering from asthma and breathing difficulties. He agreed that despite positive initiatives taken by the Court, the situation had not improved.
The judge was visibly upset by the fact that if the situation remains unchanged citizens would be forced to remain indoors. The judge said, "I am an early riser. What will I do as I have to go for my morning walk. I cannot do it because of pollution. People will not be able to get out of their homes." Already Delhi's air quality had touched the "emergency" mark post-Diwali although Court mandated that no firecrackers will be sold in Delhi NCR. Besides high concentration of chemicals and particulate matter in the air post-Diwali, Delhi air has even been fouled by stubble burning by farmers in neighbouring Punjab and Haryana.
