Delhiites to get respite from heat this week

The maximum temperature registered on Tuesday was 39.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season’s average while the minimum temperature settled at 30.5 degrees, two degrees above normal, according to IMD officials.

Weather conditions remained sultry in Delhi, making it unbearable for Delhiites. Despite some sunny patches in some parts of the city, the humidity level oscillated between 50 and 75 percent.

The maximum temperature registered on Tuesday was 39.4 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season’s average while the minimum temperature settled at 30.5 degrees, two degrees above normal, according to IMD officials.

The Weather Department, meanwhile, has forecast overcast conditions coupled with the possibility of light rain and thundershowers in isolated places on Wednesday. “The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover at 36 and 30 degrees,” the IMD official said.

On Monday, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 38.6 and 30.4 degrees Celsius respectively.

Meanwhile, Delhiites have been long awaiting the monsoon to get respite from the rising humidity. “It has become unbearable to step out even at night. The weather is so stuffy and suffocating,” said Aarti Mohan, a resident of South Extension-I.
