Delhi: Three-storey building collapses, one killed, 11 injured

One person was killed and at least nine others were injured when a three-storey residential building collapsed following an explosion in a cooking gas cylinder in Moti Nagar in Delhi this morning.

One person was killed and at least 11 others were injured when a three-storey residential building collapsed following an explosion in a cooking gas cylinder in Moti Nagar in Delhi this morning.

Efforts are on to clear rubble amid fears that some people may be trapped. According to the fire department, they got a call about the incident around 7:45am following which several fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

"One person has been killed while nine persons have been taken to hospital. The building collapsed following an LPG gas cylinder blast. Rescue operations are on," said a police official.

Policemen, fire fighters and local people were working to remove the rubble. It is suspected that some people may be trapped in the debries, he added.
