Delhi: Student killed, another injured after speeding truck hits scooty

One minor Tanishk, a student of class 11 died on the spot while another minor Naveen has been admitted to a hospital.

One student of DAV school, Narela was killed and another severely injured after a truck collided with a scooty on Tuesday. One minor Tanishk, a student of class 11 died on the spot while another minor Naveen has been admitted to a hospital.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the truck was coming at a very high speed on the road that connects Narela Industrial Area to Alipur, while the children were leaving from school. Tanishk was riding a scooty while Naveen was walking behind him. As the truck came closer, it crushed Tanishk and even dragged his body a couple of metres. The driver then fled from the spot. Both the victims are residents of Alipur.

The injured victim was admitted to Satyawadi Raja Harishchand Hospital, Narela while the body of another victim has been sent for autopsy. The police have taken the truck into custody and are searching for the absconding truck driver.

Whether the student had a license for riding or not is still being investigated.
