Around noon a black Omni Taxi arrived outside the AIIMS mortuary, barely able to walk or speak Kamlesh, the younger brother of Ram Avatar Meena could not come to terms with the fact that his brother was no more.

In between sobs Kamlesh screamed "I have lost my brother." Soon a neighbour arrived to escort him but Kamlesh could barely manage his steps. He fell on the ground and was held by his neighbour. Two other relatives then picked him up and made him sit on the side outside the mortuary.

Many people came and expressed their sorrow and tried to console Kamlesh who cried incessantly. Even when cops wanted him to verify the body of his brother he could not gather the courage to do it and was sent back.

"Ram Avatar Meena had a pleasant personality, he would always greet everyone with a namaste. He was elder to me but always joined hands to greet us. My children had recently on September 5, 2018 attended his younger son's birthday. He was a gentleman," said Abhay Kumar, his neighbour.

Even though locals stated that the area is not well lit and anti-social elements do gather during late night. They also alleged that that police presence in the area is minimal.

"I was at work when my wife called me and informed me that he was no more. Such a wonderful, decent and kind person he was. Always helped people in trouble," said Pramod Bagal, Meena's immediate neighbour.
