Satnam Kaur, the daughter of one of the aides of Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) chief Harminder Singh Mintu, has emerged as a crucial figure in the Nabha jailbreak conspiracy as well as the suspected efforts to revive Sikh militancy, officials privy to the investigation told DNA.

Parminder alias Pinda, the alleged mastermind behind the jail break, and Kaur were reportedly in a relationship. The two met in the Nabha jail a few years ago, after Kaur was arrested in a drug trafficking case.

The Delhi Police teams camping in Punjab are now trying to track Kaur. The cops have a tip-off that she was last located in Bhatinda, Punjab. Meanwhile, it was revealed during Mintu's interrogation that he was in touch with two ISI handlers — one of them in Germany, and the other one in Lahore. It may be noted that Mintu had also planned to flee to Germany after reaching Goa.

"Mintu has visited Germany in the past and he has contacts there. He also admitted to have taken Rs8,000 from Mani, brother of Gurpreet Singh Shekhon, in new currency notes," said a police officer. Mintu had undergone militancy training in Pakistan.

Interrogators further said that though Mintu claimed that he was not the mastermind behind the jail break, he nevertheless knew where he had to be so that he could escape.

Meanwhile , the Punjab Police have also landed in the Capital to interrogate Mintu, who is in the custody of the Delhi police at present. During interrogation, he remained calm and answered every question.

He was arrested by the Delhi Police on Monday from the Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station, from where he was trying to flee to Panvel. His aide Kashmeer Singh, who was also with him, managed to escape. The duo had parted ways after reaching Delhi and were to meet in Goa. Police sources revealed that Singh was probably in the national Capital only and might have also altered his appearance, as he had done earlier as well. Several police teams have been raiding the possible hideouts to trace Singh.
