A Dadri dairy owner, whose business flourished right along with a steep rise in the number of robbery cases in the nearby Shahdara area, was nabbed on Tuesday, along with an associate. A probe later revealed that the man and his friend robbed people at gunpoint.

Recently, within a gap of a week, two people were robbed of Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 7.25 lakh at gunpoint by bike-borne robbers. Consequently, officers at the Gandhi Nagar police station had been keeping a strict watch in the area.
“While patrolling, ASI Pawan noticed two persons on a motorcycle that fitted the description of the vehicle in police complaints. When he signalled the riders to stop, they attempted to escape. Pawan then chased the bike to stop the two from escaping. Meanwhile, the rest of the police team managed to nab the accused,” DCP (Shahadra) Nupur Prasad said.

The accused were later identified as Brijesh and Pawan. Further investigation revealed that Brijesh owned a dairy in Dadri and both of them used to rob people. It was also revealed that Brijesh had purchased buffaloes with the Rs 7.25 lakh that he robbed from one Anil Kumar Bansal on May 15.
