Criminal carrying cash reward of Rs 50,000 arrested

Delhi Police's crime branch has arrested a criminal wanted in more than a dozen cases of attempt to murder, robbery, gangster act, arms act, excise act, assault on police personnel. A reward of Rs 50,000 on his arrest had been declared by the Delhi Police.

The accused has been identified as Narender Kasana (32), a native of Ghaziabad, in UP. According to the police, Kasana along with his brothers, dealt in sale and purchase of properties. In July 2017, it was learnt that the trio was involved in criminal activities and in grabbing properties forcibly. DCP crime, RG Naik said that the men were so desperate that they did not even hesitate to attack police officers.

"A team from the crime branch visited all the victims and complainants of all the cases related to the accused Narender Kasana. The team worked on all the available technical details. Thereafter, the team visited all the possible hideouts of accused in Almoda, Muradnagar, Ghaziabad, Meerut and different parts of north east Delhi. On Sunday, specific information was received that Kasana would come near Dharamshila Hospital to meet one of his friends. A trap was laid and Kasana was overpowered. He was arrested and a motorcycle was recovered from his possession," Naik said.

According to the police, Kasana's elder brother Mangat Ram brought him into the world of crime. "The criminal involvement of these brothers was first reported in 1999 in a murder case in Gokul Puri area, where Mangat Ram had stabbed to death, one Ramesh and thereafter, he was convicted for life imprisonment. In another case, Kasana with his brother had opened fire with a country-made pistol on their neighbour to grab his property in Karawal Nagar," the DCP said.

Kasana was born in Ghaziabad and later on shifted to Delhi. He left school after 5th class, and came in contact with bad elements. The accused with the help of his brothers indulged in criminal activities. He had accumulated property and was having handsome regular rental income, police said.

“The criminal involvement of these brothers was first reported in 1999 in a murder case in Gokul Puri area, where Mangat Ram had stabbed someone to death and later he was given for life imprisonment,” DCP Crime RG Naik said
