Cousins, 19, found dead in Japanese Park

On Tuesday, despite the police making elaborate arrangements in and around the Japanese Park in Rohini so that people could celebrate Valentine's Day incident-free, two Class XII students were found stabbed to death inside the park.

The deceased were identified as cousins Ankush Bagdi and Ashib Bagdi both 19. The two had left their home in the Karala village of outer Delhi around 2pm on Tuesday.

Ankush's father Ramji Lal said their friend Bobby, who lives in the same neighbourhood, had called upon them and the three had gone out together.

"Ankush told me that they will be back in a bit. When they did not return till late in the evening, I got worried and started calling them, but there was no response. Later, the police informed us that they were both found dead," Lal said.

Police recovered Bobby's mobile phone from near the bodies. The boys' wallets and phones and a woman's footwear were also recovered, so the cops have ruled out robbery as the motive and are probing a love angle in the case.

Nand Ram Bagdi, grandfather of the deceased, said: "Bobby came home drunk and had blood stains on his clothes. Just 10 minutes later, the police were at his door. But he couldn't have committed the crime alone. We suspect involvement of more people."

Police said the murder weapon, reportedly a butcher's knife, has not been recovered as of now. A case under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered at the Prashant Vihar police station.
