It seems the Delhi Police are taking a leaf out of Mumbai Police's book. The force has taken to the social media to spread awareness against drug abuse and ragging, ahead of the opening of Delhi University (DU) colleges for the new session.

While posters stating things such as 'Drug walon ko Delhi Police le jayenge' to 'Bhaag Charsi Bhaag' are already adorning the walls in the campuses, cool hashtags, such as #drugskodanda and #abnoragging, have also been privided to go along with the posters.

Although the Delhi Police were active on the social media, it was the Mumbai Police that was making the full use of the medium by coming up with witty tweets or posts, warning the youths against using drugs. After the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26, the force flooded the social media with messages stating that police lock-ups were awaiting drug peddlers and users.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police have also launched a student helpline number, 1291, for the freshers, so that they can share their grievances and complaints regarding ragging or any other kind of trouble without any problem. "Ragging does not break the ice, it breaks lives! Do not be a bystander to ragging. If you see something, say something," appealed the police on their twitter handle.

At the same time, the Delhi Police have also launched their anti-obscenity helpline number to make sure women receiving random calls or texts from strangers can register their complaints. According to the cops, the number receives around 150 calls a day.
