Class 9 student rapes 5-year-old in Noida, arrested

A minor boy allegedly raped a five-year-old girl near her home in a village adjoining Sector 45 of Noida on Tuesday evening. The accused, aged 14 and a student of Class9, was closely acquainted with the child's family and has confessed to the crime.

A shocked father of the child told DNA: "She had not been feeling well for the last few days. When I returned home around 7 pm on Tuesday, my wife told me that she was feeling a little better and had gone to play on the third floor of the building. So, I went to a shop to buy sweets for her."

"When I returned, she rushed into the house, crying. She was bleeding. There were blood stains on her clothes as well. She told us she had gone to the third floor of the building to play in one of the neighbour's home and there was no one there, except 'Bhaiya'. She then narrated the entire ordeal to us," he said.

The child was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she is still admitted. The doctors examined her and confirmed that she has been raped," the victim's father, who works with a private firm, said.

"We had good relations with the family. Our daughter often went to their house to play. We contacted the boy's family and informed them about the entire incident. Even they were shocked," the victim's father said.

On the basis of his complaint, the boy was taken into custody. He confessed to the crime during questioning.

"The boy has been taken into custody and a case of rape has been registered," Ajay Kumar Singh , Station House Officer, Sector 39 police station, said. The police will produce the accused before the Juvenile Justice Board and then send him for counselling.
