Three persons were severely injured on Saturday in a blast in the boiler of a paint factory in Siraspur village in outer Delhi.

Police said that blast in the boiler caused the tin roof of the factory to fall down on the injured three workers who were trapped and were rescued later.

A call about the incident was received around 2.50 pm and five fire tenders were rushed to the spot, said a Delhi Fire Services officer.

The workers were rescued by Fire Services and police personnel with the help of personnel of other agencies, said a senior police officer.

The injured workers Dilip, 28, his brother Vipin, 19 sustained above 90 per cent burn injuries and were rushed to Harish Chandra hospital where they were stated to be in a critical condition.

Efforts are being made to trace the owner of the factory which was shifted to Siraspur 2-3 months ago. The phone numbers of the factory owner were switched off when police tried to contact them.
