Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre, "for accomplishing in three years what Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI, could not achieve in 70 years".

He was addressing a gathering of nearly 10,000 volunteers from across the country at the Ramlila Maidan, on the occasion of AAP's fifth anniversary.

The CM said some parties were trying to divide Hindus and Muslims for political benefits. "It is the biggest dream of Pakistan and ISI is to divide India between Hindus and Muslims. But certain people here, who hide behind the mask of nationalism, are doing the same. They want to weaken the country. What ISI could not accomplish in 70 years, the BJP did in three years," he said.

The CM further compared BJP with the Congress for its track record on corruption. "Vyapam scam, Rafale scam, Birla diaries, Sahara diaries. Even judges are not safe, it seems. Just as people had uprooted the Congress, the time for BJP is coming as well," he said.

AAP, which was rooted in 2012 as a political experiment, scripted history in 2015, when it won 67 of Delhi's 70 Assembly seats, leaving just three for the BJP.

Kejriwal said the ruling BJP was so "unnerved" that they snatched the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) from the Delhi government. "They sent paramilitary forces, perhaps for the first time in Indian history, to take over the building," he said.

Sharing the dais with senior party leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Kumar Vishwas, Ashutosh, and Gopal Rai, Kejriwal made an appeal to AAP supporters in Gujarat to throw the BJP out of power.

"Vote for a candidate or a party that can defeat the BJP. If AAP is in a winning position in a constituency, vote for AAP. Else, vote for whoever is in a position to defeat the BJP," Kejriwal said.

The AAP has fielded 20 candidates for the 182-member Gujarat assembly.
