Amar Colony businessman's house robbed, jewellery worth a crore missing

The house of a businessman was robbed of cash and jewellery worth around a crore in South-East Delhi's Amar Colony area on Sunday. No arrests have been made so far by the police. CCTV footages from the nearby cameras revealed that four of the accused had earlier also committed another robbery in the same area.

According to the police, the victim identified as Manish Sachdeva was out for a movie with his family in Noida when the incident took place. Sachdeva runs a toy shop in South Delhi. Sachdeva told the police that after they returned from the movie around 2:30 am on Sunday, they found out that the main entrance gate of his house was broken. When they entered, they saw the entire house was ransacked and diamond and gold jewellery, worth around Rs 1 crore which were kept in the house, were missing.

The accused men were well-prepared and had carried the recce of the area, police informed. Before carrying out the crime, the accused men locked the door of the neighbours from outside so that an alarm was not raised.
