AAP women’s wing meets L-G Anil Baijal

The women’s wing of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) met the Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal expressing concern over the security of women in the national Capital in the backdrop of the alleged sexual assault of minor girls and women by self-styled godman Virendra Dev Dikshit in his ashram located in northwest Delhi’s Rohini and many other areas. 

The members urged the L-G to ask the concerned agencies to take swift action in the matter and rescue the inmates from all these ashrams spread across the city. They also urged Baijal to personally monitor the investigation in the case.

The action comes after the party had alleged on Friday  that BJP leaders and the Delhi police were involved in the running and illegal confinement of women and girls in the ashram, in the name of religious preaching. The party said that despite receiving several complaints the police had not taken any action till date.
