The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced to hold a protest at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence on Sunday over his silence on rape and murder incidents of Kathua and Unnao.

AAP'Delhi unit chief Gopal Rai while making the announcement on Friday said that the party will launch an agitation on the issue of women security, beginning with this protest that will be taken forward across the country."When violence against women was on the rise during the Congress government, the entire country was disturbed. At that time, BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi had raised the slogan, 'Bahut hua mahilaon par vaar, Ab ki baar Modi sarkar', but it appears that Modi has forgotten his promise because the people, accused of violence against women, are roaming free," he said.

Accusing the BJP government at the Centre for politicising the incidents, Rai said, "In Kathua, an eight-year-old girl was brutally raped and murdered. Instead of ensuring the accused are prosecuted and punished, a new spin is being given to the entire incident. In J&K too, the BJP is in power in alliance with the PDP, and the Prime Minister is still silent."

"In the same way, when BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar was accused of rape, instead of acting against him, the administration beat up the victim's father resulting in his death. The entire party led by UP CM Yogi Adityanath, BJP president Amit Shah has been focusing on protecting the accused instead of ensuring justice for the victim. Despite all this, the PM has not spoken," he said.
