The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Saturday organised a suvidha (facilitation) camp at its headquarters at Palika Kendra to help the residents with information and redressal of their grievances.

In the third such camp organised by NDMC, the civic body received 84 grievances out of which 80 were solved on the spot.

Although the grievances were brought for different departments but most of them related to the Enforcement, Public Health, Civil Engineering, Accounts and Finance, Personnel and Tax Departments.

To make sure that the grievances were dealt on priority, the civic body had formed 26 teams of various departments to look into the issues.

"The programme was organised for the third time to benefit the general public of the area. The motive has been to bring solution at the earliest to the residents' problems so that they are not trapped in documentation process," said MS Sherawat, spokesperson, NDMC.

Due to some official procedures, four of the complaints are still to be solved. However, the authorities have been putting pressure for quick redressal of those complaints also. "The four unresolved grievances were of such a nature, which takes a little more time due to official procedure. However, the complainants were informed about the timeline to sort out such cases," added Sherawat.

The representatives of Resident Welfare Associations, Market Traders Associations and other residents attended the camp and appreciated the initiative.

"The initiative has been good since the residents are now relaxed and we need not visit government offices to get our problems solved," said Bipin Bisht, a resident of Connaught Place.

The other camps organised by NDMC had also received a positive response from the residents and had helped many to get fast redressal to their complaints.
