46-year-old held for strangulating man to death in Dwarka's Chhawla area

According to the police, the accused has been identified as Sushil who allegedly strangulating the deceased identified Sanjay on October 24.

A 46-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly strangulating a man to death over a scuffle to get their fuel filled first at a petrol pump in Dwarka's Chhawla area on Wednesday night.

According to the police, the accused has been identified as Sushil who allegedly strangulating the deceased identified Sanjay on October 24.

"We received a police control room call around 11 pm regarding a quarrel at a petrol pump. However we couldn't reach the spot as the caller gave an incomplete address and his phone was switched off," said Girraj Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka).

Later the police received a call from Rao Tula Ram Hospital informing them that a man has been brought dead to the hospital. During the initial enquiry, it was found that the man had been brought from the petrol pump.

"The deceased was identified as Sanjay, a resident of Sadh Nagar in Palam. It came to light that the Sanjay had a scuffle at the petrol with a man over getting the fuel filled first. The two men again had a heated argument and fight near the air pump of the petrol pump. After which the deceased was found lying unconscious," said Singh

During further probe, it came to light that the deceased had broken the front glass of the accused's car. The identity of the accused could not be ascertained as the CCTV of the pump was not working.

"On next day of the incident the pump's manager received a call from Ramesh Dalal, a resident of Bahadurgarh, who enquired about the incident. The manager informed the police and after which the police visited Dalal's house, however, he was not found and his phone was also switched off. Although a car with broken front glass was seen in the village," said Singh. Police said that they arrested the accused Sushil from Dwarka sector 6 on Wednesday.
