31-year-old man suspected of killing wife and son in Jahangirpuri, arrested

A 31-year-old man has been arrested for murdering his wife and son as he suspected her of infidelity and wanted to get rid of her. The incident occurred in North-West Delhi's Jahangirpuri area on Tuesday morning. The husband after killing them at home left the slums early in the morning to escape from the police.

"Om Prakash was arrested on Wednesday morning from Khera Kalan Railway Station in North Delhi. He murdered the duo and slept at home with their bodies. Prakash was planning to evade to a distant location in order to escape from the police. The murder weapon, a knife, has been seized by the police," said Aslam Khan, DCP, North-West.

On Tuesday, Prakash's wife Shobha alias Sunita and her one-and-a-half-year son were found dead at their residence with stab wounds on their bodies. The couple's 5-year-old son witnessed the gruesome killings and is the only witness in the case. Prakash was nowhere to be seen and was the prime suspect in connection with the case.

Shobha resided in the slums along with her husband Parkash and her three children."The two had got married in 2005 and had a sour relationship ever since their marriage. Parkash suspected his wife's character and wanted to get rid of the son and his wife," added Khan.

On Monday night, when Shobha and her children were sleeping inside the room, Prakash stabbed them with a knife. They later succumbed to their injuries. He slept next to their bodies and left the slums early in the morning to make sure no one sees him while he is leaving.
