30 robbed at gunpoint on bus

As many as 30 people, who were returning from a wedding function from Swaroop Nagar in a bus, were robbed by half a dozen men in south Delhi's Neb Sarai area, early on Sunday. The police are questioning three suspects in the case.

Mithilesh, 51, who had gone to attend her nephew's wedding along with her family members and relatives, told the police, "We had hired a private bus. When we reached near the Pushp Vihar area, it broke down. We then took another bus and proceeded towards our homes." When the bus reached near the Devli Road area, an auto-rickshaw overtook it and forced it to stop. Around half a dozen men then barged into the bus and thrashed the driver.

One of them took out a gun and a knife and made all the women hand over their jewellery and other items. Meanwhile, two motorcycles also reached the spot. Some of the accused fled in the auto while others fled with the men on the motorcycles.

Police received a call regarding the incident at 2.25 am. They said they have identified the auto driver and three suspects are being questioned to ascertain their involvement in the case.
