The west district unit of Delhi Police has successfully nabbed a notorious gang of thieves, who duped people by posing as key-makers and stealing valuables on the pretext of repairing locks. The members of gang, three in number, are reported to be from outside of Delhi. They frequently came to the city to commit the crimes. Total nine cases of thefts were registered against the gang in west district of Delhi.

Police interrogation of the trio revealed that these people lived in cheap hotel rooms in Paharganj and would look for opportunities to get into the homes of people to steal valuables and cash and then jam the locks of almirah or cupboards, so the owner could not open them. On the pretext of getting more tools or people for help, the thieves will leave to never return.

"All accused hail from Madhya Pradesh and have been identified as Gurbir Singh and Prakash Singh, who were proclaimed offenders, and Narendra, who is a Class VIII drop-out. A Honda Activa scooter and two bags containing keys and key-making tools were recovered from the arrested persons, who had recently committed house theft in Tilak Vihar Nagar,"said Vijay Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, west Delhi.
