A 20-year-old man died after he was allegedly pushed from the fifth floor of a PG (paying guest) accommodation in Gurgaon's DLF Phase III area by his landlord on Thursday. The incident occurred as the victim, along with his friends, complained of electricity and water problems.

Ramesh Singh Bisht, a native of Bindukhatta area in the Nainital district of Uttrakhand, had shifted to Gurugram — along with 29 other men — to pursue a course in Hotel Management. The deceased was then assigned the PG from his institute.

According to the statement given to police by Kishan Singh — one of the man's friends— the students found out that there was no water and electricity supply and hence they complained. So, at around 11:30 pm, the owner Satbir Singh, along with his son, arrived at the PG and ordered them to leave. The students then resisted and had an argument with Satbir to which the owner then called up a group of men armed with sticks and they started beating them up.

Kishan then said that Bisht, in an attempt to save himself from the beating, went to the balcony. The landlord then pushed him off.

He was taken to Neelkanth Hospital by his associates where he was declared brought dead.

An FIR has been registered in police station DLF Phase 3 against the Satbir Singh, his two sons and the caretaker of the PG under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (unlawful assembly), 302 (murder) and 506 (criminal intimidation) under the Indian Penal Code.

The police are now waiting for post-mortem report. No arrests have been made so far.
