Amit Mishra was given out obstructing the field during the IPL 2019 Eliminator match between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Vizag on Wednesday.

The incident took place in the final over of Capitals' innings- with two runs needed from three balls in the final over, Mishra missed and then tried to take a cheeky single off the fourth ball of the over.

Saha returned the ball to bowler Khaleel Ahmed. But Mishra ended up running in front of the stumps and Ahmed's throw hit him on his arm. The Sunrisers Hyderabad fielders were convinced that Mishra was obstructing the field and he was given out by the third umpire.

Mishra became the second batsman in the history of the Indian Premier League to be given out obstructing the field. Yusuf Pathan, then playing for Kolkata Knight Riders, was given out for obstructing the field in a match against Pune Warriors India in Ranchi back in IPL 2013.

Amit Mishra's wicket did not matter much in the end as Keemo Paul hit a boundary off the next ball to give Delhi Capitals a 2-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, Mishra's cheeky attempt did attract a lot of attention on social media.

Delhi Capitals will now play Chennai Super Kings in the second Qualifier on Friday for a place in the final.
