Australian teenager Oliver Davies smashed and made records on Monday as he became the first double centurion in the Cricket Australia Under-19 Championship in Adelaide.

The 18-year-old, captaining New South Wales Metro, scored 207 off just 115 deliveries and took his side to a total of 406 for 4 against the Northern Territory at Glandore Oval.

Davies' knock was inclusive of 14 fours and a tournament-record 17 sixes - with the batsman smashing six sixes in the 40th over of the innings. He targetted off-spinner Jack James and slog-swept all the six deliveries over the rope and by doing so, he scripted the record of most runs ever taken from a single over in the history of the U-19 Championships.

While it was the first double-century in a one-dayer at the Australian Under-19 carnival, it was the first across all formats since 2001-02 when Jason Krejza scored the last double ton.

Speaking to cricket.com.au, Davies said, "After the first two sixes I had it at the back of my head that I wanted to give it a crack and it paid off at the end. I was trying to target from forwarding square to cow corner and I was just getting down on the back leg, almost before it was even bowled, and trying to slog sweep them over mid-wicket."
